Commander Is Becoming Faster

The biggest criteria that we use for selecting the best Gruul lands is speed, which means getting the land on the board untapped without any special conditions for it to enter untapped. Since EDH as a format is getting faster, which is true for my own playgroup as well, having access to untapped dual lands is becoming more and more essential.

Budget Dual Lands

Any of the lands listed will be better than a basic land 99% of the time. For a Gruul deck, the budget options in this list are really just fractions worse than the expensive Wooded Foothills, so don’t hesitate to consider the cheapest options in this list as well. This is the thing about two color EDH decks, there are many good alternative dual land options. As your deck goes up in colors, mana bases tend to get more expensive because you need the expensive dual staples to keep it consistent.
